Welcome everyone to our little movie review podcast. For today’s 276th episode, Mike and Matt backtrack a bit and review a film from April 2022, The Northman starring Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, and Anya Taylor-Joy. Not Viking topics include being a freak, religion (I know they shouldn’t have), and sparkling water.
Let’s just get this out of the way right now, The Northman is not a film for everyone. It is a very well made action period revenge film with beautiful sets, costumes, and cinematography. This is not a bad movie, it just kind of drags on and on at times. There are a handful of visions or dreams sprinkled throughout the film that can be very confusing to the viewer as well. The cast is excellent and they all brought their unique skills to the screen. If you are looking for a well made, well acted, and well shot revenge epic then this film is not to be missed. Matt and Mike agree, awarding The Northman 3.5 out of 5 Reels.
